All absences are recorded and the parent or guardian must verify their cause. Parents or guardians are responsible for providing a written explanation of their child's absence on the back of the sign-in and out sheets. Parents or guardians must sign with a full signature. A doctor's note may be required if the child is absent more than three (3) days.
Absences that are considered Excused Absences are defined as:
- Illness (child or parent)
- Doctor or dentist visit
- Quarantine of child or parent
- Family emergency
Best Interest/Vacation Days:
Absences that are in the "Best Interest " of the child are considered excused absences. A maximum of ten (10) Best Interest days will be allowed during a single school year.
Unexcused Absences and Tardies:
Excessive unexcused absences or tardies, not to exceed three (3) days. If child is frequently absent and/or tardie he/she shall be terminated from the program.
